It's about time, the Bengals finally beat the Steelers at home. It couldn't have been scripted any better than the way the game played out. It was physical, hard nosed football and down to the wire. Thank god I have a healthy heart or I may not be able to watch these games.
In the beggining of the game it seemed like history would repeat it's self. Same old Bengals roll over against the Steelers, but that was not the case. The Bengals began the game with a great kickoff return and ruined it with a first series of three and out. The Steelers dominated the first quarter, leaving the bengals with -10 total yards and trailing 10 - 0.
The second quater wasn't much better, besides moving the ball and making a field goal. It seemed like they were beating themselves with penalties and being undiscipline. Going into half time the score was 13 - 3 Steelers, with little hope for the Bengals.
By the third quarter it seemed painful at times to keep watching. When they finally scored a touchdown, they botched the extra point. It seemed unreal that they could continue to make the same mistakes over and over. Luckily they were able to stay in the game and allow only one touch down to end the quarter 20 - 9.
When the game meant the most the Bengals came up big and the Steelers fell flat in the fourth quarter. Down by at least two scores the Bengals of new would not give up. The defense did not allow any points to be scored and the offense began to produce. With 9 minutes left in the game Cedric Benson scored the Bengals first offensive touchdown of the game to cut the lead to 5 points. The defense played hard and kept the game in reach. After converting two fourth down plays the bengals scored the winning touchdown with 14 seconds left. This by no means was the end though. They were only ahead by one point and needed a two point conversion to keep the Steelers from being able to win from a fieldgoal. The Bengals were able to convert the two points to go up 23 - 20. At this point I had mixed emotions, I was happy they took the lead but knew it was far from over. I could not think about a win until the clock ran out. When it did I let out a big WHO DEY!!!!!!!
